50 years after the events of the 7th Gunpla Battle Championship, the popular sport has grown to such a degree that it has become a way of life in hierarchical society. Enter Axis Island: A small island discovered in the middle of the Pacific Ocean that 20 years ago became a vacation hot spot for many people. Today it is a derelict town where gunpla battling "gangs" run rampant, fighting eachother over territories in an attempt to one-up eachother. The five toughest gangs consisting of:
The Sleeves
An affable gang that primarily use gunpla based on the Principality of Zeon and the various incarnations of Neo Zeon. Their seemingly good nature masks a deep-seated sense of elitism however, as their belief is that only those knowledgeable in the lore of "Mobile Suit Gundam" should be allowed to participate in gunpla battle.
The Murasame Street Titans
Brutish thugs with a delusional sense of self-righteousness. The Titans primarily field gunpla from "Gundam 0083" to "Zeta Gundam". Naturally they are vicious rivals to the Sleeves.
In order to put a stop to this: Representatives of Yajima Trading have been dispatched to take control and gentrify the island to it's former glory. However unknown to most of the island's inhabitants: More sinister forces lurk within the shadows, perpetuating the turf wars between the rival gangs is a mysterious organization risen from the remains of the Flana Institute from Finland and the now-defunct Gunpla Mafia known as the Modellers Against Submission Coalition (Otherwise known as M.A.S.C.). Little is known of their goals outside of selling hacked GP Bases on the black market. These "EX Bases" allow players to manipulate battle machines to give whoever wields one to his or her advantage. Thus, Yajima Trading has also dispatched the world's greatest gunpla battler: Meijin Kawaguchi the 7th to hunt down M.A.S.C. upon hearing rumors of their hiding out on Axis Island...
